HOW DO YOUR GRANDKIDS SEE YOU?
As a group we possess a unique and powerful influence in our families. It is what I call Grandparent Power. We are endowed with great opportunities since these beautiful and trusting little souls think we are just plain wonderful, very wise, funny and all knowing. Think about that, We are given a powerful gift. Now what?
This is the chance to find and mine those great qualities and interests they are enthusiastic about. I can tell you that a word of encouragement or an active listening ear goes a long way to determining how our Grandchildren see themselves in this world.
In our family the parents cue us about accomplishments, challenges, etc. When i am going to have the kids for any period of time I ask what rules I can reinforce around things like candy, screen time, bedtime and such.
Their world is your pallet and you the artists if you just do all that you can to give them the most valuable gift you have, your focused attention and Love. The rewards are exponential.
